As a part of Broadcast Asia conference program, Mr. Fabio Gattari, Etere's Asia Pacific Sales Manager, delivered the keynote speech at the conference on the subject of 'Optimizing File Based Workflow and Asset Management', the speech has token place on 17th June in a special session entitled 'The Challenges of a Filebased Environmen'; during its presentation, Mr. Gattari covered one of the main broadcaster's challenges today, the implementation of a Tapeless approach for media management systems that could be modular, interoperable, workflow-based and cost-effective at the same time. "The broadcasting industry as a whole is proactively looking to migrate towards a more digital based workflow due to the evident efficiencies of a tapeless environment. In many areas of the workflow this is increasingly possible with internal media content management being a prime example. The fundamental area of third party media content acquisition (from external agencies, content producers, etc) has not yet fully converted and where digital files appear to be used, such a process often relies on an undefined tapeless workflow. A tapeless workflow must include all the capabilities that today exist in tape based workflow, but using only files and mainly automatic processing." said Mr. Gattari.
